RED: This was a hard image to create, finding the right lighting and composition to create a geometric shape with strong colours. When I found the image style I was looking for, it was easier to create BLUE. In editing I made the colours a lot stronger to create a more hyper real image, to not look like paper.

This image took time to get the right composition and framing, creating the right effect I wanted to portray. Eventually I found it, making the sweats looks like they’re hanging on to the paper with strong shadows, making more colourful in editing.

Framing this image was hard, as positioning the paper to get a balanced image took time. Also finding the right lights for the right colours and shadows to make an overall interesting image took time.

In editing I made the colours more vibrant, as well as rotating the image to centre it, making it straight.

The lighting for this image was hard to get right, finding the right position for each light to light each sphere. I went with one of my first shots with a single light, then editing the colour to my the whites stand out more and the blacks darker creating interesting shadows.

Finding the right focus point was tricky, deciding on what to focus. Eventually I chose the black eyes, blurring the rest of the image, creating an interesting effect.

In post, I made the whites whiter, creating a crisper image, and also made the colours stand out more creating a more appealing image.

These images where easy to shoot as I had the idea firmly in my head, so all that was needed was to create the perfect lighting, allowing detail to be shown as well as having a crisp white background, which I feel I achieved in my final image.

The lighting for these images was hard to get right, due to the single light source being from the phone, making it hard where to place the phone. After some tests, I found the right place and re-created it in each image, creating successful images.

In post production, I created darker images, making the shadows darker so only the face is clear from the phone light, a style I wanted to create in unison.

It was hard to find a good way of lighting the studio for these shots, due to the range of colours and patterns on the shirts. The white background helps the shirts stand out and look more natural than on the black. It took a while to find the right shot, but when the first was found, it was much easier for the rest.

At first I was going to have the images in a portrait style, as shot above. In post production I decided to crop out the human aspects, so the focus is on the shirts, which I feel looks more interesting.

Originally I wanted to shoot with a white background, but then wasn’t happy with how the images came out, so decided to use the black, creating more serious and interesting images, with a better balance of colour.

It was hard finding the right lighting, starting with two, to then only using one, allowing textures to be sharper and more visible. I later edited the images in post production, creating darker backgrounds which engulf the subjects, creating powerful images.
